A scarce Confederate bridle-cutting pike
Having a broad 13 1/2 inch spearpoint blade of diamond section, the ricasso with 4 1/2 inch, slightly downcurving fluke sharpened on both edges. Tang extending 7 inches into haft and fastened with three large pins. Mounted on original 72 inch haft, the upper end with 2 inch steel ferrule below blade.
Condition: Mottled grey metal showing some light pitting. Haft with minor marks.
