An American Revolutionary War period horseman's saber
circa 1775-80
Curved 33 inch blade with three fullers below the spine. Brass hilt with knucklebow and two curved branches extending to the sturdy guard; simple ferrule; bird's head back strap with capstan; leather-covered grip bound with two strands of straight and single strand of twisted brass wire.
Condition: Blade with scattered patches of spotting/minor pitting. Grip leather with small tear below the pommel.
