A lot of three African spears
19th or early 20th century
Comprising: 1) Large example, probably Masai, with broad 23 inch blade with median ridge above an 8 inch octagonal socket, the upper part with herringbone decoration; central section wrapped in copper tape; 28 inch tapered iron foot. 2) Barbed spear, possibly Sudan, 8 inch leaf-shaped head above four barbs and a sprial socket, the lower part wrapped in iron tape; original 35 inch wooden haft, the lower 12 inches wrapped in iron. 3) Copper example, central Africa, 14 inch head with offset fullers and inlaid with twisted silver wire, this above a pierced socket; 23 inch wooden haft with herringbone decoration; 23 inch iron foot having pierced upper section above finely wrought spiral panels.
Condition: All fine and showing dark patina with minor marks and wear.
