A gold encrusted small sword for a boy
18th century
Unmarked 25 inch blade of hollow triangular section. Hilt decorated overall with a design of scrollwork and neo-classical masks in gold. Grip wrapped in plaited silver wire, silver wire turk's heads.
Condition: Blade showing scattered light spotting. Hilt with dark patina showing losses to gold decoration and considerable pitting.
