An early Scottish Highland dirk
early 18th century
Straight, acutely tapered 14 34 inch single edged blade with two deep fullers. Hardwood grip carved with interlace, the shoulders incised with tracery. Flat brass pommel cap, the exposed tang secured by a cruciform iron nut.
Condition: Blade with dark, mottled patina showing areas of pitting. Bolster missing. Grip showing fine age patina, wear and some chipping.
