In a third phase pattern, with nine-spot arrangement of stepped diamonds and diamond halves overlaid on the banded ground, in natural, indigo and aniline dyed handspun yarns.

  • Provenance:
    Purchased by the present owner's mother from a neighbor in Portland, Oregon in the 1960's. The seller was the granddaughter of Joseph H. Durst, the first superintendent of Sequoia National Park. The woman reported that the blanket was her grandfather's "horse blanket" and that it was a gift during his years in the Southwest and in her family ever since.
