A pair of Northwest Coast rattles
Possibly Bella Bella, each similarly painted and carved in shallow relief, totemic faces composed with oval eyes, raised semicircular ears and toothy mouth on one side, a round-eyed grinning creature on the reverse, commercial twine used to wrap the grips.
