Lot 1331
1884-S $20 MS63 PCGS
The '84-S is a widely collected issue, however this does not necessarily stem from its second-lowest original mintage figure from the latter-half of the 1880s, but more likely from the fact that this delivery was coined to a remarkable standard. The piece in the present lot represents this preceding sentiment very well, for the strike is sharp, the surfaces blanketed in green-gold coloration, and the luster is frosty and plentiful. True, both sides display scattered abrasions, but these are expectable for the numeric grade. (PCGS 9002)
