BD-3, R.4, Close 5D. Crisply delineated throughout, the devices do not reveal much appreciable wear, giving this coin the "look" of a higher grade. The surfaces are a bit subdued, however, although even olive-orange color does enhance the eye appeal. Free of individually mentionable abrasions, and of further importance as a scarce early half eagle variety with probably fewer than 150 pieces extant in all grades. (PCGS 8102) Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated
