Giles (ca. 1935 2010) boldly illustrates the Dreamtime route of people who traveled from the artist's birth place to a northern part of the Central Desert toward Lake MacKay. The Tingarri journey is depicted as extending over vast areas of untouched desert country connecting diverse places all to identify with Jackie Giles' story. The artist was a traditional law man, healer and a respected member of the tiny Gibson community of Patjarr. Jackie Giles has been widely exhibited in Australia and internationally and is the recipient of the prestigious Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award.
