Nine American parcel gilt sterling silver assembled flatware serving utensils
Attributed to Whiting Mfg. Co., Providence, RI, circa 1860-1880
Marked "Sterling", in three patterns, comprising: in a bird's nest variation, one butter serving knife with engraved blade, engraved initial "U", one medium serving spoon (#13), monogrammed "A Mc N"; one sugar sifting ladle (#5) and four various large serving spoons (#s 7, 14, 17), monogrammed "MLD"; one large serving spoon (#17) with finial showing a cluster of violets and another large spoon (number indistinct) with a cast figural handle finial of a pheasant on a vine plucking at an insect on a leaf, total weight approximately 20 oz troy. (9)
