THATCHER, MARGARET. B. 1925.
Autograph Letter Signed ("Margaret Thatcher"), 6 pp recto and verso, 8vo, Lamberhurst, near Tunbridge Wells, Kent, n.d. [but 1970s], to Isabella Horton Grant, on House of Commons stationery, two holes punches at upper margins of all leaves, light creasing, pin holes at upper left margin.
Thatcher writes a long, friendly letter to a San Francisco judge whom she befriended. She mentions having dined at the Ritz with Grant's relative, and also describes an upcoming visit to Russia: "I am venturing on a short visit to Russia. I shall go very warily because although all seems friendly at the moment, you never know what is going to happen next. And the people live under the hand of restriction that it is difficult for us to comprehend. However, I am only going for 4 days."
