BONAPARTE, NAPOLEON. 1769-1821.
Letter Signed ("Napoleon") as Emperor of the French, 1 p, 4to, Paris, March 6, 1806, to his adopted son Eugene Napoleon, regarding military expenses, mild spotting to leaf, particularly at center right, leaf float mounted, matted with portrait and framed.
A short testy note from the Emperor to Josephine's son, translated: "I find it rediculous that the Minister of War has demanded 5,600,000 francs for you," more, apparently, than has been apportioned for the defense of France. At the time of this writing, Eugene was in command of the Army of Italy.
