2 parts in one volume. Folio (276 x 173 mm). [16], 702, [10]; [2], 225, [9] pp. Engraved portrait frontispiece, additional engraved title. Modern quarter calf. Wanting additional engraved title to second part, portrait and engraved title grubby, light waterstain to title and following leaf, a few leaves towards end with fore-edge neatline cropped.

Third edition of the first work, first edition of the second. The second work, A Geographicall Description, contains a significant section on the Americas, recording Raleigh's discovery of Virginia in 1584, and discussing "New-Boston, an haven Town, and a place of good trading." The nonconformist Clarke's other works include English Martyrologie (1652), An Account of the English Plantations in America (1670), and many biographies. Sabin 13447; Wing C4551.
