FIRST EDITION, SECOND ISSUE, WITH AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED ("A.G.B.") pasted in. The letter, dated January 4, 1892, and written to accompany an advance copy of In the Midst of Life, implores the recipient not to "give it away" as the book had not yet been published. Starrett 17.
