Full blue morocco gilt-ruled, spines gilt in compartments, t.e.g; original brown cloth bound in. Very few scattered spots, little offsetting from cloth to final pages, binding tips just rubbed.

FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING, with AUTOGRAPH SENTIMENT bound in. Bound in following the title of volume 1 is an autograph sentiment signed by the author, in full: "Trust in the Lord and Do good. / From your friend / Harriet Beecher Stowe / July 11 1891." BAL 19343; Grolier American 61; PMM 332.
