8vo. vi, 70 pp. Folding woodcut plate of holds on slave-ship. Modern quarter calf. Prelims and final few leaves heavily browned and with repairs where insect-damaged, plate offset and with 3 small holes in blank areas.

FIRST FRENCH EDITION.. Essentially a digest of the larger Abstract of the Evidence (1791) presented to Parliament by Wilberforce and Clarkson in an attempt to shock the government into action against the slave-trade. The plate first appeared in Clarkson's 1808 History of the Rise, Progress and Abolition of the Slave-Trade.
