39 volumes. 8vo. Decorated by Charles Ricketts [1866-1931]. Edited by T.S. Moore. Original blindstamped green cloth, spines gilt-lettered. Very occasional minor stains or foxmarks, some bubbling to cloth, endpapers toned, spines faded with a few stains, light shelfwear, partially unopened.
The most ambitious publication of Charles Ricketts' Vale Press. The Vale Press founts were of Ricketts' own design; when it became clear he would close the Press he threw them into the Thames.
