Manuscript on paper, in Latin, approximately 400 pp recto and verso, 12mo, 17th century red morocco, covers gilt all over with repeated fleur-de-lys device, spine gilt in 5 compartments, being a philosophical text divided into "articles" and "inquiries," lacking around 6 leaves at beginning and incomplete at end, a little worming at lower corner towards end, early restoration to 2 spine compartments.
Provenance: Patrick Murray, Edinburgh, February 26, 1751 (ownership inscription, perhaps the fifth Lord Elibank [1703–1778], member of the Edinburgh literati in the 1750s).
