M'GREGOR, J.J. Narrative of the Loss of the Sea-Horse Transport, Captain Gibbs, in the Bay of Tramore, on the 30th of January, 1816. Waterford: Printed by John Bull, 1816.
8vo (200 x 123 mm). 32 pp. Period marbled sheep, red leather spine label. Wear to binding edges, joints cracked with lower cover nearly detached; minor soiling to title.
FIRST EDITION AND A RARE ACCOUNT. The Sea Horse was one of three naval transports embarked from Ramsgate for Ireland, packed to the gills. There were no lifeboats, and though the wreck occurred less than a mile from shore the seas were too rough for rescue boats and less than 10% of the passengers survived.
