Folio (297 x 188 mm). [4], 147, [1] pp. Additional engraved title. Engraved folding map. Title with woodcut illustration, plus woodcut illustrations within text. Period blind-ruled calf. Additional title bound a bit close, closed marginal tear to preface leaf; rebacked, boards scuffed.
FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. Translated by Acton Cremer, this became the first anthropological work published at the Sheldonian Theater. Includes two love songs in Lapp with English translations and a Lapp and Finnish vocabulary. Cox I p 178; Madan Oxford Books III 3023; Wing S851.
