FIRST EDITIONOF THE FIRST AMERICAN ACCOUNT OF COOK'S THIRD VOYAGE which preceded the official London narrative by more than a year. John Ledyard was a corporal of the marines aboard the Resolution. One of several Americans on the voyage, he was the only one to publish an account, and the text includes details of the voyage not found elsewhere.
