VERY EARLY RUN OF A VITAL HONG KONG WEEKLY. The China Mail ran from 1845 to 1974, founded by Scotsman, Andrew Shortrede. About 15 years later, Shortrede became famous for publishing the Hong Kong Directory, which included a list of foreign residents in China.
