Folio (295 x 198 mm). a-f6 A-N6 O8. 122 leaves. 45 lines and headline. Woodcut map on e6r, 7 woodcut diagrams. 19th century vellum-backed boards. Period marginalia slightly shaved, a few leaves lightly waterstained at fore-edge, slight paste-action at foot of title.

Sixth edition of Macrobius's two extant works. His commentary on Cicero produced "the most satisfactory and widely read Latin compendium on Neoplatonism that existed during the Middle Ages," with "lengthy excursuses on Pythagorean number lore, cosmography, world geography and the harmony of the spheres" (DSB). The woodcut map in this edition omits the names of the winds and reverses the positions of East and West. BMC V 499 (IB.23699); Goff M13; HC *10430.
