Provenance: early collegiate ownership inscription on title; Charles Calvert Eden [1837-1878] (bookplate).
Machiavelli's Florentine Histories were commissioned by Giulio di Giuliano de Medici, later Pope Clement VII, and as a result serve largely as a celebration of the Medici family.
