7 volumes. Folio (355 x 235 mm). Small format contents slip affixed to front pastedown of each part, small format 'notice to subscribers' in final part, two volume titles and indices for each work. 130 hand-colored engraved plates (including 1 Dodo plate). Original cloth-backed drab printed boards. Plates slightly toned, a few stray spots and small marginal tears, two slightly larger tears to plates touching images, textblock separated from boards part F, boards soiled and bumped, spines worn.
ORIGINAL PARTS. The first half of each part features the Journal of Natural History, while the second half publishes a new translation of Cuvier's Animal Kingdom, with the plates belonging to the later. Nissen ZBI 4619; Wood p 328.
