Folio (418 x 313 mm). [x], 177 pp. Hand-colored vignette title and tailpiece, hand-colored map, and 24 hand-colored aquatint plates. Half morocco, raised bands, gilt spine titles, original wrappers bound in at rear. Some foxing and browning to bound-in wrappers, boards rubbed, wear to extremities, spine sunned, however plates clean and bright.
FIRST EDITION, ONE OF FIFTY LARGE PAPER COPIES. The present copy testifies to Tooley's comment that "large-paper copies have remarkably brilliant impressions of the plates and are greatly superior to small-paper copies." Abbey Travel 90; Tooley 445.
