[iii]-x, 30, 33-74, 73-252 pp. 28 aquatint engraved plates by Thomas Rowlandson, including title and folding frontispiece, all but one plate hand-colored, remaining plate hand-tinted, errata slip tipped in. 19th century half calf over marbled boards, rebacked with original gilt spine laid down. Some spotting, offset from some plates, general shelfwear to binding.
FIRST EDITION of this William Combe imitation. C8 (pp31/32) a cancel leaf not present as usual. A satire against the Marquis of Hastings, the Governor General. Abbey Travel 437; Tooley 412.
