Engraved portrait frontispiece, 6 chromolithographed, and 10 lithographed plates, all but one of which are hand-colored, 4 folding maps, all with some hand-coloring, wood-engravinged illustrations throughout the text. Original olive green cloth stamped in brown and gilt. Faint foxing to preliminary and final leaves, ownership signature to half-title, one map with separation at some folds and foxing, hinges repaired, head and tail of spine and corners rubbed, some spots and stray marks, an excellent copy overall.
