Period russia, gilt panel, carefully rebacked, red and black gilt-lettered spine labels. Faint foxing or toning, hinges repaired, covers with some minor stray marks, edge wear, an attractive copy.

FIRST EDITION with the dedication to King George the Third and general title. This was originally to be part of a series The History of Principal Rivers of Great Britain, although the project was abandoned after completion of the above work. Abbey Scenery 432; Tooley 102.
