1. The Comic History of England. London: Punch Office, 1846-48. 20 parts in 19. 8vo. 20 hand-colored plates and 240 woodcuts in text by John Leech. Original blue pictorial wrappers. Custom chemise (worn) and morocco pull-off case by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Mild offsetting from plates, upper wrapper of No 1 nearly detached, old lot number affixed to front wrapper of No 18, otherwise in excellent condition. Ads and inserts conforming to Tooley. Provenance: Nicholas Frederic Brady (bookplate to chemise).
2. The Comic History of Rome. London: Bradbury & Evans, 1851. 10 parts in 9. 8vo. 10 colored plates and 98 woodcuts in text by John Leech. Original blue pictorial wrappers. Custom chemise and quarter morocco slipcase. Some light chipping to spine ends, heavier to spines of Nos 1, 8 and 9/10, minimal loss to a few corners, a few wrappers starting. Ads conforming to Abbey with additional slip in No 9/10.
