2 volumes. 8vo (240 x 140 mm). lxv, 189; xi, 248 pp. 2 engraved titles plus 110 plates. Later full polished calf gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, red and green morocco spine labels, all edges gilt. A little minor staining at ends, vol 1 title slightly trimmed, vol 1 upper cover starting, light wear at extremities.
FIRST STOCKDALE EDITION, printed by T. Bensley. The plates are by thirty different engravers (and four unsigned plates): Landseer, J. Chapman, Bell, Eastgate, Bromley, Skelton, Audinet, Martin, Barrett, and others. Bentley mentions that the work was advertised at the end of the second volume of Gay's 1793 Fables as containing William Blake engravings, however there are no signed Blake plates.
