Old boards, rebacked and recornered with portions of original spine laid down. Few minor spots, crease to final leaf.
FIRST BEWICK EDITION (THE "THUMBPRINT EDITION"), LARGE-PAPER ISSUE. Thomas Bewick is "justly styled the restorer of wood engraving in England" (ODNB) and Aesop's Fables is his best-loved work. V&A 27.
