Folio (335 x 212 mm). [14], 826, [14] pp. Errata leaf. Title page printed in red and black. Engravings throughout including portrait frontispiece, 5 double-page maps, 3 double-page views, 3 additional double-page plates, 3 full-page plates and about 50 full-page engravings within text, mostly by WENCESLAUS HOLLAR. 19th-century morocco, rebacked, armorial embossing and gilt tooled decorative borders to upper and lover covers, edges gilt. Frontis tipped to binders stub, chipping and rubbing to covers.
Provenance: Incorporated Law Society (presentation inscription; institution inkstamp to title, prelims, and final leaves; gilt stamp to foot of spine).

FIRST EDITION. Dugdale spent twenty years traversing Warwickshire in researching this, the foremost county history of the period. Wing D2479.
