The egg-and-dart molded peaked cornice above an applied giltwood lion mask, wings and arrows over a rectangular mirror plate flanked by winged griffins, palmettes and rosettes, the base with lobed edge over satyr form tapering cylindrical supports, the backboard mounted with a star centered by a lion mask, raised on a rectangular plinth, the reverse with paper label reading PG Bylander SPEGELFABRIK ...Gotheborg...

  • P.G Bylander, one of Sweden's most celebrated makers of mirrors, was active in Gothenburg between 1810 and 1852. Works by Bylander are in the collection of The Nordislea Museum, Stockholm.
