The current work was painted in the late spring of 1928 during Bell's first extended visit to La Bergére, just north of Cassis. Woods and mountains are at the sides and back of the house, as seen in this work, painted a short distance from La Bergére which, from the front looks across vineyards down to the Mediterranean.
We are grateful to Richard Shone for his assistance in cataloguing this lot.
