Persia, early 13th Century
with flat base, straight sides and horizontal rim, the base with a large central roundel enclosing a stellar interlace filled with stylised rosettes, all within a band of kufic inscription and concentric bands, the rim with a band of scrolling palmette volutes, the exterior of the sides with cartouches of kufic with knot motifs between, the underside with concentric bands
