Footnotes

  • Text:
sura XXXII, as-Sajda, Adoration, part of verse 3; part of verse 6.

One section (part 26) of this 30-part Qur'an, copied by Amir Hajj ibn Ahmad al-Sayini, is in the Nasser D. Khalili Collection. At least seven sections survive of the manuscript, which was perhaps copied for the Ilkhanid vizier Rukn al-Din Sayin. A waqfiyyah inscription in some of the other sections indicates that the manuscript was in Yemen at some point towards the end of the 14th Century. See D. James, The Master Scribes: Qur'ans of the 11th to 14th Centuries, Oxford 1992, pp. 114, 118-119, no. 27.
