Arabic manuscript on paper, 321 leaves, 17 lines to the page written in minute naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, gold dots between verses, inner margins ruled in gold, illuminated devices in outer borders, catchwords, inner margins of each page with gilt decoration and the name of the sura incorporated within a gilt medallion at top corner, sura headings written in thuluth script in red within a gold cartouche flanked by floral motifs in colours and gold, one illuminated frontispiece preceded by two illuminated shamsas incorporating the opening prayers, creased otherwise in good condition, covers decorated with wild red roses on a black ground, doublures with apple/prunus blossoms on a red ground, surface of outside covers blackened and crackled as a result of fire, with brown leather case, worn
