Arabic manuscript on thick cream-coloured paper, 58 leaves plus 2 blank leaves at beginning and end, 5 lines to the page written in large sini script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black and red, gold florets between verses, inner margins ruled in red, catchwords in wide margins, occasional exquisite illuminated devices in outer borders, sura headings written in gold within blank panels, one illuminated frontispiece in red, green and gold, two semicircular illuminated devices in outer margins, the double-page endpiece decorated with stylised floral sprays in pink and gold amidst green vegetal motifs, edges frayed and stained, waterstaining mostly restricted to outer margins, corners rather thumbed, contemporary brown morocco with stamped central medallions, cornerpieces and border florets, entire surface of covers richly tooled with small circular motifs, doublures of blue cotton, flap with similar decoration, spine and edges damaged
