  • Scott moved to 56 Oakley Street in 1904 with his mother and two sisters and resided there for four years having previously lodged, again with his sisters, at 80 Hospital Road where much of the Discovery Expedition planning took place. A manuscript note, in pencil, on the envelope reads: "Letter of Capt. Scott the Antarctic explorer given me by Mr. Gilman of Pickford's." See illustration overleaf.
