KOETTLITZ (REGINALD) - SLEDGING FLAG
Reginald Koettlitz's sledging flag, designed and created for the Discovery expedition, bearing the Koettlitz coat of arms, the silk standard, with triangular panel bearing a bull rampant painted onto gold background, met by a triangular panel of red and white stripes nearest the hoist, the remainder of the flag divided horizontally with two stripes, gold above black, original chord tie, wear to silk of hoist and red and white striped panel, light surface wear of paint of bull rampant, 355 x 1000mm., [c.1901]
