  • Dieulefils (1861-1937) was a French photographer and postcard publisher based in Indo-China. After arriving in Tonkin in 1885 as a soldier he went on to establish a photographic studio in Hanoi and exhibited at the 1889 Paris World Fair. Including: parasol makers at work; Tonkinese soldiers; the royal family; a family sitting to eat a meal; musicians; wheelbarrow drivers; Kinh-Luoc pagoda; priests; and apothecary; fishermen; the mother of the Vice Roy; sculptors at work, and boats on the Red River.
