  • Includes a series of views of Belgaum, Karnataka, of which 11 large showing the damage caused to bridges and railways by flooding, a sweetshop, an officer's bungalow, and views of local sites. The album was made up by Captain (later Major) F.E. Glossop, of the 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment who appears in a series of approximately 20 group images (Bangalore Shooting Club, 1906; Regiment Football team in India "with cups won"; Picnic Party "& wives"). Others of India include 3 large views of Lord Ampthill arriving in Madras after a stay at Simla. The South Africa series includes many "on the ground" images at Ladysmith, Waterkloof, etc. including Boers surrendering, manoeuvres, "kaffir encampments", Glossop "examining kaffir spies".
