  • Includes good Bourne images for Calcutta, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Benares, Darjeeling, Lucknow, Cawnpore, Simla and a fine group of Bhooteas (Bourne 1905 illustrated). Others include Bombay (VT);a maharajah seated formally on a dais with boys on charis in the foreground; pupils of the Kidderpore Vernacular School at their studies, a couple of others (madrassas?). The Burmese group includes fine views of temples and the Mingun Bell (in a decayed state, it is now the largest ringing bell in the World), and a huge white paper elephant being prepared for burning at a festival.
