A late Victorian silver presentation cup and cover
by P Ashberry & Sons, Sheffield 1898
Compressed oval form, the removable cover with later egg-shaped finial, the body bright-engraved with scrolling foliage and dot swags, all surrounding a floral cartouche engraved 'Ealing Southall, Conservative Association 1971', with leaf-capped scroll handles each with rope-twist bifurcated junctions, and fluted knopped stem with rosette borders, raised on a stepped circular foot, height 37.3cm, weight 47.5oz.
