A large George III silver two-handled sugar bowl
by Richard Cooke, London 1806
Compressed circular form with gadroon rims, demi-fluted body engraved with a crest to one side and a coat of arms to the other, reeded angular handles and raised on a circular collet foot, gilt interior; together with two George III swing-handle cream pails, one with maker's mark 'BP', London 1782, tapering cylindrical form with gadroon rim and rope-twist handle, the body pierced with quatrefoils, with blue glass liner, the other by William Vincent, London 1770, similar form, the wire-work body applied with flowers, the rope-twist handle similarly decorated, with blue glass liner, and a George III silver jug, by Nathanial Appleton & Ann Smith, London 1773, bulbous form, with wavy rims and leaf-capped double scroll handle, diameter of sugar bowl 21.5cm, weight 23.5oz. (4)
