A late 18th century Belgian silver mustard pot
possibly an alternative mark for Antoine Jean Belin, Tournai 1779
Tapering cylindrical form with scroll handle, the hinged lid with egg and husk border and bud finial, the openwork body applied with ribbon-tied fruiting vine swags over a vacant oval reserve, with three pilasters terminating in hoof feet supports, with blue glass liner; together with a Belgian cream jug, by Gabriel Germain Dutalis, Brussels with 1831-68 hallmark and 950 standard mark, baluster form, the hinged lid with ring finial, the wood loop handle with graduating ring roundel junction, height 13.7cm, and a Belgian plate, maker's mark LJ as an ambigram in a square punch, Brussles with 1831-68 hallmark and 800 standard mark, with stylised stiff-leaf border, the lower rim engraved with initials, length 7cm, diameter 23.9cm, weight 5oz.
