A 19th century silver tazza
by Joáo de Oliveira, Porto circa 1870-77
The hexafoil top engraved with quatrefoil motifs over a machine-turned ground, with applied raised rim pierced with scrolls, flowers and leaves, the outer sides also applied with three scallop shells, the knopped stem terminating in a domed circular base and raised on four scroll bracket feet, height 18.1cm, diameter 24.3cm, weight 22oz.
