A 19th century Russian silver swing-handled basket
possibly by Alexander Andreev or Alexander Afanasiev, Moscow pre-1896
Tapering cylindrical form with rope-twist rims, plain body, raised on three ball feet, diameter 8.5cm; together with a 20th century example, possibly by Ivan Meshcheryakov or Ivan Mnekin, Moscow 1908-1926, bellied form, similarly decorated, the body with presentation inscription, a German silver mounted glass flask, 800 standard, with maker's mark 'W.S.H' in a heart punch, oval form, the body applied with silver wreaths, ribbons and winged terms all flanked by rosette borders, (glass damaged), height 14cm, and a continental plated pot and cover, compressed baluster form, the cover with bud finial, stylised-leaf borders and raised on three paw feet with anthemion junctions on a cast triangular base, height 14.4cm, weight 8.5oz.
